MUSICAL THEATRE
FAME's Musical Theatre Programs are dedicated to providing the finest musical theatre education in York Region.
FAME began in 2000 with a single production of A Variety Show. Over the past twenty-two years, the program has expanded into five programs working with hundreds of students age 6 to 18.
Our Musical Theatre Programs provide students with in depth training in acting, singing, and dancing. Students will work from a script to build out a musical production; each week learning choreography, scene blocking, vocals and developing their stage presence.
Here at FAME we pride ourselves on our unique approach to musical theatre. Each student will develop their skills alongside friends who come together every week to hone their talent and unleash their inner Broadway Star.
Come dance, sing and act with your FAME family. Spaces are very limited so register early to avoid disappointment.
OUR PROGRAM
CLASS REQUIREMENTS
Students will require jazz shoes for classes and for final performances. Students should wear comfortable clothing they can move in (no jeans or skirts). Each week students will need to bring a filled water bottle, a pencil or pen and a highlighter, their script in a folder or binder (scripts will be provided by FAME via a google drive link) and a nut free snack. If your child has any allergies or medical conditions please let us know.
REHERSAL PROCESS
In order to maintain a high quality program students are expected to:

Have lines memorized before each staging rehearsal

Have music prepared and memorized for each choreography and staging rehearsal

Review staging, choreography and/or music before each rehearsal

Arrive to rehearsal early with appropriate clothing and footwear

Participate with enthusiasm, positivity, and an eagerness to learn

Respect fellow students and instructors throughout the rehearsal by quietly observing when not actively rehearsing

Leave cell phones and other distracting devices in their bags during rehearsal time (unless they have been given specific permission to record)

Punctuality and attendance are our two highest expectations for students, and can often make or break the success of a performance
